Wild Toes Product GuideUpdated 3 days ago

What are Wild Toes?

Wild Toes are a training tool. They are designed to support toe spacing practice and toe mobility work over time. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any condition and are not a medical device.

Latex warning (purchase level): The Wild Toes resistance band contains latex. If you have a latex allergy or sensitivity, do not purchase. Both the toe spreaders and the resistance band are packaged together.

How to use your wild toes?

Start with 10 to 15 minutes and build gradually. Wild Toes work best when paired with active foot training, and most people do not need more than 1 hour per day.

1) How to use Wild Toes (simple progression)

Start conservatively and build as your feet adapt.

  • Week 1: 10 to 15 minutes per day
  • Weeks 2 to 3: 15 to 30 minutes per day
  • Weeks 4+: up to 60 minutes per day, as tolerated

Wearing them for longer than 1 hour per day usually does not add meaningful benefits, and it can shorten the product’s lifespan.

2) Best used alongside movement practice

Wild Toes are a tool, not an orthotic. For best results, use them alongside active foot work like strength, balance, and mobility.

To help your feet get the most benefit, we recommend:

3) Fit tip (how to put them on)

When putting them on, the narrow, pointy ends go between your toes, with the larger curves facing outward.

If they feel difficult to get on at first, it is often because toes are cramped after years in narrow footwear. Start shorter and be consistent.

3.1) Resistance band use

All Wild Toes sets include a resistance band for active toe extension and toe splay exercises. Keep the work gentle and controlled, and stop if you feel sharp pain.

4) When to wear them

Wild Toes work best during low to moderate demand activity, especially while you are building tolerance:

  • Light walking around the house
  • Standing balance work
  • Gentle mobility work

We recommend wearing wild toes barefoot for the best experience and product lifespan. Wild toes are not designed to be worn in shoes, especially not for narrow footwear.

5) What’s normal vs not normal

It is normal to feel:

  • A gentle stretch between the toes
  • Mild pressure where the spreaders sit

It is not normal to feel:

  • Sharp pain
  • Pins and needles
  • Numbness
  • Skin breakdown or rubbing that worsens each time

If any of the above happens, reduce wear time, adjust fit, or stop and reach out to our team.

Helpful Alternatives:

If Wild Toes feel too intense at first, try:

  • Shorter sessions (even 2 to 5 minutes is a win)
  • Gentle toe mobility drills (toe lifts, toe waves, toe circles)
  • Wider toe box footwear
  • Toe socks (when not wearing Wild Toes)

6) Care guidelines (protect your Wild Toes and your feet)

To maintain durability and comfort:

  • Limit use while your feet adjust. They are most effective in moderation over time.
  • Only wear them with wide toe box footwear that gives your toes enough room to splay.
  • Only wear them indoors or in a clean, hazard-free environment.
  • Do not wear them in wet environments (shower, pool).
  • Do not overstretch them beyond natural flexibility.
  • Remove them if you feel discomfort or unusual pressure.
  • Clean with mild soap and cool to warm water after use.
  • Allow to dry completely before storing.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight.
  • Store in a cool, dry place.

General cleaning instructions

  1. Wash your silicone Wild Toes with hot water and a grease-cutting dish soap.
  2. Leave them slightly wet and apply baking soda to any greasy areas.
  3. Gently massage the baking soda into a creamy paste.
  4. Allow the paste to dry on the silicone (this may take a few hours).
  5. Wash again in hot, soapy water to remove the dried paste.
  6. Dry completely before storing.

Common questions

Why are my Wild Toes sticky?

Silicone can become sticky when natural oils from the skin come into contact with water. Use the cleaning instructions above (dish soap plus baking soda paste) to remove residue.

Why are my Wild Toes difficult to get on?

Toes can tightly packed after years in traditional footwear. Start with short wear times, and consider doing a quick toe mobility warm-up first. This usually gets easier with consistency.
