What is a TFC Guide and what can they do?

A TFC Guide is someone who is certified to host official TFC events and classes, using TFC's name, frameworks and tools.

As a certified TFC Guide, you can typically:

  • Run TFC‑branded community workshops and classes using the approved frameworks.
  • Use TFC branding for approved events and marketing assets (within TFC brand guidelines).
  • Access Guide‑specific resources, session plans, and support from the TFC team.

Important boundaries

  • Guide Certification focuses on education and group facilitation, not on providing clinical diagnosis or treatment unless you separately hold appropriate qualifications and certifications.
  • Any use of the TFC brand, logos, and event names must follow TFC's brand and event policies shared with Guides.

What is the TFC Guide Certification?

At a high level, becoming a certified TFC Guide involves these steps.

Depending on the cohort and format, this may include:

    • Dates, location, and high‑level schedule
    • Any pre‑learning or preparation

Step 5 - Complete certification

  • Once all requirements are successfully completed and approved, your status is updated to Certified TFC Guide in our systems.

What are the in‑person and online components?

The core of the Guide Certification is the 2‑day in‑person weekend, supported by short online modules and resources.

In‑person weekend (core component)

  • 2 full days of:
    • Movement practice and teaching drills
    • Group facilitation practice
    • Live feedback from TFC Educators

Online components (post-event)

  • Short modules or videos to:
    • Introduce TFC's philosophy, key frameworks and tools
    • Cover logistics, safety, and event standards
    • Walk through example event flows and checklists

We may update the exact delivery format over time, but the principle is the same: in‑person practice + online scaffolding so you feel prepared and supported.

How does Guide Certification relate to the Pro Certification?

You can complete Guide Certification, Pro Certification, or both, depending on your goals.

High‑level relationship

  • Guide Certification
    • Focus: Group events and classes.
    • Outcome: You are certified to deliver TFC‑branded events and classes using approved frameworks.
  • Pro Certification
    • Focus: Clinical and professional practice.
    • Outcome: You are certified to apply TFC methodology in 1:1 or professional settings and can appear on the TFC Pro Directory (if all requirements are met).

Some people will:

  • Start as a TFC Pro and later add TFC Guide Certification to expand into events.
  • Start as a Guide and later complete Pro Certification if they want deeper clinical training or directory listing.

You do not need to be a TFC Pro to become a Guide, but if you do hold both, you'll have:

  • Deeper clinical understanding from Pro Certification and a listing on our Pro directory.
  • Clear, structured event frameworks and brand support from Guide Certification.

What happens if I am already a TFC Pro or have attended past TFC events?

If you are an existing TFC Pro or have attended previous TFC seminars or events, Guide Certification is designed to build on what you already know, not duplicate it.

General principles

  • Past education and experience will help you, especially with concepts and coaching skills.
  • To become a certified TFC Guide, you still need to complete the current TFC Guide Certification pathway for your cohort.

If you are already a TFC Pro:

  • You bring strong clinical or professional context into your events.
  • Guide Certification adds structured event frameworks, facilitation skills, movement principles and brand use clarity.

If you have attended past workshops or seminars:

  • Those experiences give you familiarity with TFC content and style.
  • The Guide Certification formalises how you run your own TFC‑branded events or integrate the training into your own practice under our current standards.

Specific transition or recognition details (for example credit for past events, discounted pathways, or cohort‑specific rules) are communicated directly to affected groups and may change over time.

Key commitments, expectations, and ongoing requirements

To maintain your status as a certified TFC Guide, you are expected to meet these ongoing commitments.

1. Deliver events that align with TFC standards

  • Follow the approved event and class frameworks.
  • Respect TFC's safety, consent, inclusivity and communication guidelines.
  • Use TFC branding only in agreed ways and for approved offerings.

2. Stay connected with the TFC team and community

  • Keep an eye on Guide‑specific updates (for example changes to event structures or policies).
  • Participate in periodic check‑ins, calls or refreshers if they are part of your cohort's requirements.

3. Keep your details up to date

  • Ensure your contact details, location and offerings are current wherever TFC lists or promotes Guides.

If any ongoing membership, subscription, or periodical re‑alignment is required for your cohort, this will be clearly communicated in your Guide onboarding materials.
